A press release will take place on the road at the side of Iztuzu beach on Saturday 30th November between 11:00 and 13:00 where İKUP, supporters and Iztuzu Beach lovers will express their concerns about the proposed new turtle hospital.

Controversy surrounds İztuzu Beach in Dalyan as the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and Dekamer move forward with plans to replace the existing turtle hospital with a 1000 sq.mt covered space that will also include resting areas for the personnel and volunteers.

The objections are led by the Save İztuzu Platform (İKUP -İztuzu Kumsalını Kurtarma Platformu) on the grounds that Iztuzu Beach is a conservation area and that any building will pave the way for further developments.

İKUP propose that the building should be relocated to different area away from the beach, leaving only a small visitors center with a small first-aid unit at İztuzu itself.

They have raised their concerns and suggestions to both the Ministry and Dekamer via official letters a petition and press releases.

This press release was published on 11th August 2019.
