This summer, Fethiye Times is sharing brief reports of weddings held in the area – particularly those involving British nationals – and has invited wedding planners from across the area to submit details for publication. We were delighted to receive notification of a ceremony in Kayaköy last week.

Godfrey – Salisbury

Sam & Katharine, who tied the knot at Günay’s Garden last week.

Günay’s Garden and Izela Restaurant in Kayaköy was the setting for the wedding of UK police officer Sam Salisbury and customer supply coordinator Katharine Godfrey.

The couple, who met at summer camp in the United States, tied the knot before over 40 family and friends, although the ceremony was formally witnessed by Calum Langley and Hannah Goodwin.

Best man Jason Cain was also assisted by Hannah, who combined her duties as witness with a role of ringbearer, which she shared with groomsman Callam Wallace.

Louisa Smart was the matron of honour while the bride was also attended by bridesmaids Adrianna Godfrey and Niambh Salisbury.

The groom is the son of Lisa and Lee Salisbury of Romford in Essex while the bride is the daughter of Peter and Pauline Godfrey of Northwich in Cheshire.

A reception at Izela followed the ceremony arranged by Eken Weddings at Günay’s Garden. The official photographer was Murat Sarıca.
