Travelling on the frequent Dolmus services is a great way to get around Fethiye town and beyond to places such as the Turkish jewel in the crown resort of Oludeniz, Saklikent and Calis beach.
We explain how the colour coding can help you choose the right bus, how to pay and how to get off.
The Dolmus services in Fethiye are run via a cooperative of private owner / drivers. The services are reliable and timely.
Find the Right Bus
You can flag down a Dolmus any where along its route. Make a clear signal with your hand.
Drivers will often beep their horn or flash their lights to attract your attention if you are looking away. If that dolmus is not the one you want just ignore as any other gesture might make the driver think you want to get on!
Fethiye Dolmus use a colour coding system to help users to make sure they flag down the right bus and cut wasted stops and reduce congestion.
The colours are as follows:
Gocek – Burgundy
Calis – Navy Blue

Tasyaka – Karagozler – Orange
Oludeniz / KayaKoy / Hisaronu – White
Yenievler / Patlangic / Calica – Pale Blue

Okultasiti (School bus) are purple
Yaniklar / Ciftlik – Black
Saklikent – Bright Green
Kemer – Silver
Esenkoy / Karamersin – Yellow

Kumulova/Karader – Red
Uzumlu – Green

Do you know any others?
Pay the Right Amount
Dolmus are required to publish their prices on the bus – see below. Give the driver the money. No tickets are issued.
Pay when you get on or when you get off.
Get Off at the Right Place
If you do not speak Turkish a simple ‘stop’ will normally be all that is needed to get the driver to stop at the next convenient place and drop you off.
Etiquette
Men sit next to men and women with women.
The young give up their seat for the elderly.
Security
Dolmus are a safe way to travel but on busy routes keep hold of your valuables as pick pockets do operate from time to time.
