It was definitely “one in the net” for Fethiye International Group (FIG) when they presented a donation of football kits to Silkar Günlükbaşı Ortaokulu (Middle School) on Friday.
The kits were donated earlier in the year by UK football club, Leamington Hibernians. Every year the club donate their old kits to a worthy cause and, this year, contacted FIG to see if they could help.

Leamington Hibernians Football Club
Established in 1974, the efforts of Jim & Joy Barry, their extended family and a network of committed volunteers have seen Hibs mature into one of the most respected football clubs in Coventry and Warwickshire.
Have a look at their website to learn more about the club.

The kits
The club donated kits for two age groups, 5-8 years and 9-12 years.

Silkar Günükbaşı Ortaokulu (Middle School)
Silkar Günlükbaşı Ortaokulu currently has 285 pupils. The school used to have 700 however, as newer schools open in the area, the numbers have dropped. Sports teacher Alparslan Kalafatoğlu (Alpo) explained that the children take part in sports but have no kit and have to wear their own clothes and shoes.
They were delighted to receive the 9-12 year kit.

FIG, along with Sheena and Ewan from Leamington Hibs, have been invited back to to see the team kitted out and in action.
A huge thank you to Jim, Joy, Sheena and Ewan for their donation.
