This year’s celebration of horticultural prowess will be in Ovacık on Sunday May 22nd.

So get the date in your diary.The first one featured four gardens in Üzümlü, whilst last year’s opened up five gardens in Çalış. Well this year’s celebration of horticultural prowess will be in Ovacık on Sunday May 22nd. So get the date in your diary.

As in previous years the proceeds from the Day will be shared between the Garden Club and another local group – this year it is the Ölüdeniz Hash Harriers who will make their 22nd May run a jog/walk around the gardens to be opened. The run will start around 11am with the gardens being open to the public from 1 – 4pm.

We do not yet know how many gardens will be involved but four have been confirmed including the one in our picture.

As usual there will be plants and refreshments (including home-made cakes and biscuits) on sale (mostly for a mere 1TL per item) in one garden.

Entry will be by map showing the gardens and maps will cost 2TL each. They’ll be on sale at the April Çalış Boot Sale, at all Sunday gatherings of Ölüdeniz Hash from 10th April onwards and at the entrance to participating gardens on the Day itself.
