World currency markets have reacted positively to the UK election result ahead of the confirmation of a Conservative victory.

At one point this morning the British Pound bought 4.17 Turkish Lira on the wholesale currency markets before slipping back to 4.15 at 10 AM BST.

A Turkish Lira was therefore worth 24 Pence.

Yesterday the Turkish currency traded at a low of 4.07 TL.

The strong Pound will is good news for travellers to overseas countries such as Turkey where the currency now buys more Turkish Lira than ever before.
