There are a wide range of properties that have been bought as investments by foreigners and Turkish people in the area. Some are let on short term holiday lets whereas others are let on longer term contracts of 6 months or more.

You do not have the same protected rights in Turkey as you do in UK when it comes to renting. Your landlord can go to court to evict you and regain possession if they have a personal need to live back in the house. Remember this if you take on a long lease.

They key to protecting yourself if to have a comprehensive contract between you and the landlord and have this properly translated so you both understand the position. Make sure everything that you have agreed such as price, payment terms, price increases, wear and tear, contents, repairs, communal charges, utility costs and so on have been included.
