Sales of Land and Property to Foreigners Suspended

IMPORTANT INFORMATION IF YOU ARE ABOUT TO BUY

All sales of land and property to foreigners have been suspended as of 27 July 2005 pending the issue of a new law by the Turkish Government.

Title deeds (Tapu) transfer applications will be accepted but will not be actioned until the new law is issued.

It is unclear what the new law will say or when it will be issued.

As you do not legally own a property until you have the title transfered to your name you should consider carefully your situation if you plan to buy now.

It is uncertain if you would receive a refund from a vendor of any monies paid if the law subsequently rejects your purchase.
