Property Generally Postal Problems Continue

The back log of post in the Fethiye sorting office is now reaching such a level that we wonder if they will ever be able to deliver all the post piling up. On a recent visit to the sorting office we spied many parcels and envelopes with English names stacked up in the office in the centre of Fethiye. We also noticed that the pile of post we photographed a month ago (see picture) has now grown out of all proportion.
The backlog has meant that many Ex-pats have not received any Christmas cards and gifts sent from the UK by friends and family. But locals are also being financially affected by the backlog. Telephone bills and credit card statements levy fines for late payment, but without the paper bill people have been unable to pay.
So, if you’ve been expecting cards and gifts this Christmas why not pop down to the sorting office above the main post office in Fethiye and see if you can get hold of your items. If the mountain won’t come to you then you need to go to the mountain!
