Thursday night through to Friday morning saw Fethiye and district hit by a storm the likes of which hasn’t been experienced for many years.

Ahmet Kizen, owner of Pastoral Valley in Yaniklar, lost 20 eucalyptus trees, some of them crashing down onto, and damaging, cottages used for visitors at his eco farm.

Ahmet has lived in the village for over twenty years and has never before seen a storm of such magnitude.

Meanwhile the village wing, in another district of Yaniklar, lost power around 9pm Thursday and didn’t get it back until lunch time Friday. Fortunately they didn’t suffer any structural damage.
