A cloud burst in the afternoon came as a surprise so soon after the scorching and dry August.

Cloud began forming ove the area in the early morning.

By lunchtime the mountains near Fethiye were shrouded on dark menacing clouds and rain fell there.

However, the heavy shower that swept over Fethiye in the late afternoon was a surprise with shop keepers, bar owners and others scrabbling to rescue their goods, soft furnishings and other items left outside from the unexpected watering.

Temperatures have dropped to more comfortable levels over the last week and that is set to continue over the next few days with day time highs of 28 centigrade and lows of 20 centigrade forecast, and of course, bright sunshine and clear blue skies.
