We usually like to post photographs of Fethiye in the sunshine and occasionally when there is a torrential downpour or dramatic storm.

It certainly provides some great opportunities for taking moody, scenic photographs.
The Turkish Meteorological Office is saying that this week there is going to be what in the UK would be called a ‘cold snap’.
Media forecasts ‘Siberian winter’
We are being told that this is a prelude to plummeting temperatures from today, through to the end of the week.
For those used to wintering in northern climes, this is no big deal but here in south west Turkey it can be a bit of a shock to the system!

Making the most of winter weather
While many of us will decide to stay put with a blanket and a hot mug of coffee or tea,

Don’t expect it to be a winter wasteland though; last weekend it was busy with families enjoying barbecues
and playing in the snow!
Helping birds and strays
Maybe it’s also time to think about putting out some food for the birds and checking on street cats and dogs to make sure they are not suffering.
