OK. We have certainly focused on the weather this week but by Fethiye standards, the last few days have been pretty nippy,
and temperatures have been a far cry from those of the summer.
By Wednesday night it was the coldest temperatures so far (since last winter) and the wind chill factor made it feel even colder.
Temperatures plummeted to well below freezing in many parts of the region.
With an icy wind howling, and Jack frost nipping toes, this was definitely a night to stay inside.
We can’t say this is accurate but it certainly felt about right at 3am!
The sun shone all day and out of the icy wind it was almost ‘warm’.
The freezing wind didn’t stop two stalwart fellows from having a clarinet lesson on Çalış beach.
Snow capped mountains
By the evening there was a wonderful sunset as our headline photo shows, but by then the temperatures were certainly back to below freezing.
At this time of year, please remember to look out for elderly or frail neighbours, put out food for the birds and check on stray animals.
