Red Bug Ravages Palms

Bodrum to Fethiye

Over 700 palms trees have been destroyed over the last year by the Red Palm Weevil it was announced last week.

The infestation covers an area from Bodrum to Fethiye and is estimated to have cost the local economy over 1.7 million TL in lost trees, treatment and quarantine arrangements.

Hollywood – Fethiye

It seems Fethiye is turning into a bit of a magnet for film directors.

Russell Crowe was in Kayakoy and Tlos a few weeks ago to film scenes for his new Hollywood block buster ‘The Water Diviner’.

Last week a Chinese film crew were in Fethiye filming on location for a new film called ‘Love, But Not in Love’.

The crew used part of the Lycian Way for their scenes adding to those already filmed  near the start / finish of the long distance walk at Antalya.

It reported that this was the first time China had filmed in Turkey.
