Fethiye will host the start of stage 4 of the race in the 50th anniversary annual Tour of Turkey cycle race from Alanya to Istanbul.

The unique cycling race will celebrate its 50th anniversary when the race starts on Sunday 27th April in Alanya, Turkey.
The 8-stage intercontinental road race brings together some of the world’s great cyclist on the 1,254km route that follows the Mediterranean and Aegean Coasts.
25 teams with over 200 riders are expected to take part in this year’s race.
The race will cover 8 stages and 1,254 km:
1. Alanya – Alanya 27/4
2. Alanya – Kemer 28/4
3. Finike – Emali 29/4
4. Fethiye – Marmaris 30/4
5. Marmaris – Bodrum (Turgutreis) 1/5
6. Bodrum – Selcuk 2/5
7. Kusadasi – Izmir 3/5
8. Istanbul 4/5
Stage 3 will take the riders from the coast up through the mountain town of Elmali and then to a sprint finish at 1,825m on the road from Elmali to Seki. For those of you that know the area that climb is going to be one tough finish!
The riders will then travel from there to Fethiye for the start of Stage 4 to Marmaris.
The whole race will be broadcast live by Turkish TV channel TRT so you can watch the splendid countryside from the comfort of your arm chair rather than a narrow saddle!
The broadcast channels will include TRT-3 / TRT Spor / TRT Turk / TRT HD.
The first live broadcast of 2014 will be on the screen on Wednesday March 19, 2014 at
10:30 am. “TUR 2014 Publicity Meeting” where the teams will be introduced to the press will be broadcasted live in TRT – 3 and TRT-Spor channels.
Eurosport will also broadcast the race stages too for viewers outside of Turkey.
