Local charity Animal Aid joined together on Friday 6th December for their annual Christmas event.
Twas 19 days before Christmas, when all through the Shaka
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the bar with care,
In hopes that the Animal Aid Team would soon be there.
Deck the Halls
The Animal Aid Team arrived at the Shaka Restaurant on the promenade, Fethiye on Friday 6th December to host their annual Christmas event.
Guests joined in the fun and merriment by dressing in festive colours.
Several Santas arrived in costume after managing to park their sleighs in the cycle lanes!
Music filled the air creating a traditional Christmas atmosphere and encouraging our guests to drink and make merry.Fa la la la la la la la la.
Comfort and Joy
It was not a silent night, after decking the halls with boughs of holly resident MC Mike Chamberlain took to his microphone and brought joy to the world by commencing the Animal Aid Christmas Quiz.
Anyone who answered a question incorrectly had to complete a forfeit which included…. dancing like a ballerina, walking the catwalk, juggling balls, crying like a baby whilst wearing a nappy.
Everyone involved played their part really well and nobody said ‘I’m a celebrity get me out of here’.
DJ Rimms got the Shaka rocking to a selection of Christmas hits old and new.
Amongst the guests were a mixed group of students from Kazakhstan, Libya, Syria and The Yemen.
They are all attending the IM Academy in Hisaronu to study English.
As a group they are taking part in different activities, so Animal Aid were delighted to welcome them to their Christmas party. They were unable to show them a partridge in a pear tree, but they did show them nine ladies dancing and 10 lords a leaping!!
In return, they sang Happy Birthday in Arabic to two of the guests that had recent birthdays.
Oh Come All Ye Faithful
The Animal Aid Team and the 95 supporters that attended this event rocked around the Christmas tree until after midnight.
We would like to thank all ye faithful who came to this event.
A special thank you to DJ Rimms and his wife Christine for their continued support.
