Prime Minister Visited Fethiye
Mugla and Fethiye featured on the political campaign trail last week when the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan toured the area over a two day period.
On Saturday he started his tour with a speech in the county town of Mugla. He was pictured wearing the scarf of the local football team Muglaspor throughout the speech.
In the evening he stayed in Marmaris and gave another speech detailing the big capital investments that had taken place in the area over the last 11 years that his party has been in power.
They included the new dual carriageway roads, dams in Bodrum and Akkopru Dalaman, agricultural support, hospitals and medical services and equipment, marinas, 805 housing projects and more.
Then on Sunday he officially opened the Fethiye’s new town square at 12:30 before moved on the Milas to open a park.
British Man Found Dead in Uzumlu
The local press reported the death of British citizen Christopher Bliss.
The alarm was raised by his wife when she returned home on Friday evening to find her 72 year old partner lying lifeless in the kitchen of their villa.
The body has been taken to Mugla for an autopsy.
The press reported the couple had moved to their villa 15 months ago.
Property on the Agenda
The president of the Fethiye Association of Estate Agents met with the British Consulate in Fethiye last week to discuss the problems faced by foreigners who have bought property and how the new professionally registered and regulated real estate companies will help in future.
The President explained that there are now 175 professionally registered real estate companies in Mugla and that citizens and foreigners should use them to ensure the best protection and avoid the amateur agents who provide none.
A man who was working on the roof of a three storey building was injured when materials that were being craned to the working area broke free and fell on him.
The man was rushed to hospital by ambulance where it was found his leg was broken.
The team remain at the bottom of the league with just 6 points.

The Turkish Lira ended the week down 6 Kurus from the previous week at 3.31 TL to the British Pound. A Turkish Lira is now equivalent to 30 pence.

Shop broken into and cigarettes and alcohol stolen.
The thieves spent 45 minutes in the shop filling their bags, stopped for a drink and a cigarette, and then unplugged computers and the register in an attempt to hide their tracks.
However, they forgot the CCTV system and police are now looking for the thieves.
