A staggering 17,500 TL was raised in just one night when the 3C’s held their annual charity Promises Auction last Wednesday.

The 5 hour marathon auction which was organised by Çalış Children’s Charity took place at the Bambu and Nil Bar Restaurants on Çalış seafront and attracted both tourists and locals to bid for the 169 auction lots generously donated by local businesses and supporters, in both Turkey and UK.

With lots as varied as dental treatment and health checks, day trips, riding lessons, sailing, dive days, bicycles, hotel accommodation, restaurant meals, jewellery, watches, antiques and collectables, a property management package, paintings, designer sunglasses, bags, clothing, perfume and household goods there was something to suit everyone.

“It was a long night and we thank everyone who supported us and helped us to raise a record amount” said 3C’s Chairman Peter Clark. “Our auctioneer George did a brilliant job and I would also like to thank all of our committee for all of their hard work in the run up to the auction and on the night itself”.

All of the money raised will go to fund projects to help local children

During a break in the auctioneering, long serving 3C’s member Anne Jenns, who is returning to live in UK with husband Barry, was presented with flowers by the 3C’s chairman.
