Entrance Fee Introduced for Calis Beach Access
The company that has leased the Sat section of Calis Beach from Fethiye Council has introduced an entrance fee.
The company now levy a 10 TL charge at the entrance near to the Yoruk tents. Previously access was free.
A barrier has been installed.
They say that they have been forced to make a charge to deter anti social behaviour such as public drinking and loud music played from cars that use the area.
Other areas of Calis Beach remain free to use.
“Clunk-Click” Simulator in Fethiye
Fethiye trafik polis displayed the latest road safety tool to citizens last week.
The seat belt simulator uses an actual car body to demonstrate the effects of a dramatic 360 rollover crash.
The local police chief said that the dramatic demonstration has been so good many of those people who visited said they would definitely wear their seat belt in future.
British Tour Operator Visits Marmaris
Jet2 Holidays CEO Steve Heapy met with holiday leaders from Marmaris, Fethiye and Bodrum last week.
At the meeting held in Marmaris Mr Heapy explained that Turkey was now a big area of growth for his company and that they hope to bring 320,000 visitors to the FAB (Fethiye, mArmaris and Bodrum) area in the future (we added that last bit!).
Exclusive Liner Docks in Fethiye
The exclusive liner Seabourn Spirit berthed along side on the Fethiye municipal harbour last week.
With a draft of only 5.2 meters the liner it is able to dock in the shallow harbour of Fethiye unlike the mega liners which can only go to Marmaris, Bodrum or Rhodes.
It brought 204 passengers who visited local attractions such as Kayakoy, Oludeniz and the great shopping areas in Fethiye.
