Tour of Turkey to Visit Fethiye in 2013
The dates and route for the 2013 Presidential Cycle Race (the 49th by the way) were announced this week.
It will start in Alanya and finish in Istanbul with Fethiye – Marmaris being the fourth day’s ride.
Dates are 21 – 28 April so 24th is the day when roads around Fethiye will be closed.
Emergency – Calling Dr Beat
And more statistics. Fethiye’s Director of Health Services told press that during 2012 his 112 emergency ambulance crews answered a total of 8,898 emergency call outs, making them the busiest crews in Muğla province.
Fethiye Care Home Suprise Celebration
It’s been a while since we reported high jinks at Fethiye’s Care Home, so good to see them hitting the news this week with a music and dance session led by saz player Adem Kazan.
Unknown to all (save Dilek Dincer from FETAV who organised the surprise) this took place on Adem’s birthday, and a cake was wheeled in and everyone sang Happy Birthday.
Then Adem was given his gifts – ceramic plates featuring his picture playing the saz.
Of course a good time was had by all, and apparently FETAV is committed to staging monthly ‘events’ at the Care Home, so watch this space.
Turkish School Half Term Begins
All Turkey’s schools, colleges and universities closed on Friday, 25th January for the annual mid-year holiday.
So enjoy empty roads at ‘school run’ times of day while you can, kids start school again on Monday, 11th February.
