The Fethiye Cultural Centre was packed to capacity last night for another special night of entertainment as part of the Fethiye Classical Concert Fesitval.
Cellist Yusuf Çeik began the evening with his emotional and skilled renditions accompanied by pianist Gulmira Tokombaeva.
The duo completed six pieces and another with two other cellists each receiving a rousing round of applause from the packed audience.
Following a short interval Hande Soner, Soprano accompanies by Paulo Villa on piano and Burak Ayrancı on cello took to the stage[pictured].
Hande’s powerful pitch perfect voice needed little amplification and easily filled the Cultural Centre. She sang pieces ranging from “Un bel di verdremo” from Madam Butterfly to “Ave Maria” accompanied by the talented duo on piano and cello. A truly amazing experience to hear and see.
The evening was a rare opportunity to listen to such accomplished musicians and to sample the classical culture in Fethiye.
Even more amazing was the fact that the event was free thanks to the many sponsors and FETAV who have supported this the first Fethiye Classical Music Concert.
The Fethiye Classical Music Festival ends tonight on a high note with a concert on the promenade starting at 8:30 (ish).
This event should be a real treat for classical music buffs with the Antalya State Symphony Orchestra performing selected works from Mendelssohn, Dvorak and Brahms.
The festival stage is located on the promenade near the new marina just down from the tax office.
