The weather may have been gloomy, but spirits were definitely high, at Animal Aid’s first Easter Fayre held in the street behind the Zakkum restaurant, Fethiye on Saturday 31st March 2012.

Üzümlü Wine House did a stall in association with the Üzümlü Ladies’ Fundraising Group, and FIG also had a stall.

Our introduction image is of entries for the Easter Bonnet Competition being modelled by Animal Aid volunteers. You can just see some of the painted egg entries in the foreground.

And to the left you can just catch a glimpse of on of many stalls selling baked goods, preserves and chutneys.

We sampled some of the cookies on offer and can assure you they were excellent.

In fact this event had the best array of home-baked goods we have ever seen here – so let’s hope it is now going to be an annual event.

There was face painting for the kids, various games, a raffle and two Tai Chi demonstrations and we mustn’t forget the sausage and onion rolls that were flying off the barbecue set up in Zakkum.

Definitely a good time was had by all and, of course you all want to know how much money was raised, they totalled 1,750TL.

So congratulations to Andy Trent and his team at Animal Aid.
