Turkish Airlines Flight Hijack Attempt Thwarted

A man attempted to Hijack yesterday’s Norway to Istanbul flight but was overpowered by plucky passengers.

Reports are that the Kurdish man, identified as Yasar Cuma, tried to gain access to the flight deck, threatening cabin crew that he had a bomb and demanding the flight return to Oslo.

His exact motives are still unclear, but he had reportedly sought permanent residence in Norway several times, and had even gone on a hunger strike last summer in an effort to remain in the country.

It appears there were 59 passengers on the flight, and that a Norwegian and a Turkish man tackled the man and managed to subdue him until his arrest on landing at Ataturk airport, Istanbul.

It was later revealed that the bomb was a fake, and that Mr Cuma suffers from psychological problems.
