Trevor McDonald embarks on a new travel series tonight on ITV1 at 8pm GMT in which he makes an amazing journey across the Mediterranean in search of the unexpected, the forgotten, the extraordinary and the bizarre.

In the first programme, he boards the luxury yacht Christina O, which was once owned by the Greek tycoon Aristotle Onassis.

Then he visits Izmir, Turkey, where he witnesses one of the strangest sporting events in the world - camel wrestling.

His final destination is the unique and magnificent Venice.

This wonderful city with no roads is one of the jewels of the Mediterranean and Trevor discovers what everyday life is like in this truly majestic place.
