It was Ladies Day in Çalış last Friday when over 100 ladies congregated at the Eyna Restaurant on Calis seafront for a leisurely afternoon of “Knickers and Nibbles”.

The enjoyable afternoon’s event, organised by the lady members of the Çalış Carnival Committee, was a chance for ladies to relax, chat and make new friends - and shop!

Local lingerie company Afrodit, run by English resident Lindsay Toraman and her friend Brenda, held an underwear party at the rear of Nalan and Erhan’s Cankar’s newly refurbished restaurant.

Ladies were invited to browse through the rails of garments and try on their extensive range of tasteful underwear, swimwear and nightwear.

Judging from the number of distinctive pink and black Afrodit bags spotted in Çalış that afternoon, trade was brisk!

Ladies could also pamper themselves and book in for a manicure with a local beautician in between enjoying cocktails and nibbles and indulging in Nalan’s delicious cake and freshly made Italian coffee.

“It was a lovely afternoon and we are very pleased with how it went and we would like to thank everyone who helped. We now hope to hold another ladies day in a few months time, maybe this time we will include make up and jewellery as well” said committee member Rosemarie Bridge.

The event raised 338TL for the carnival charity.
