Torrential Rain Forecast Again

As Fethiye is left clearing up the mess created by Saturday’s storm another weather front is fast approaching SW Turkey. Weather forecasts are predicting torrential rain will hit the area on Monday evening and will continue overnight and into Tuesday. It is predicted that up to 40mm (1.5 inches) of rain could fall. If this volume does fall it will no doubt lead to further flooding, closed roads, damage and possibly power cuts.

The high winds experienced on Saturday are not expected to return but expect strong gusts as the weather front moves over.

If you have plans to travel long distances on Monday evening we suggest you reconsider as roads will be treacherous and fog and possibly snow on the higher mountain passes will make the going dangerous.

For those of you with holiday homes that are currently unoccupied we suggest you get your agent to check for water ingress and storm damage as soon as possible to prevent expensive bills building up if the weather has got in.
