What A Wet Day!

On Tuesday we warned that wind and rain would be arriving with the worst of the weather on Wednesday.

Well, the forecast was correct and the rain lashed the area from dawn to dusk filling storm drains to bursting point, washing debris across roads and soaking anyone who dared to step out of their homes.

The thunder roared overhead from time to time and echoed around the mountains whilst lightening strikes causing some local power cuts.

Ovacik was particularly badly hit as one reader has reported. The storm drain near their property couldn’t handle the volume of water and burst its banks. As the photos show the area was awash and parts of the property under a few inches of water.

We should have a brief respite from the rain for the first part of today but rain is forecast to return again this afternoon/evening. Roll on summer when we can moan about the heat again!
