The Fethiye area has been hit for the second time this month by severe weather.

This time damaging gale force gusts of wind tore through the area.

The strong gusts started around 6 am and reached their peak around 8 am leaving many without electricity.

One of our readers from Ovacik reported that their chimney stack was blown clean off the roof this morning during the time when the gusts were at their strongest.

But minor damage to property and stuff is fairly widespread with roof tiles blown away, solar panels damaged, satellite dishes knocked out and garden furniture broken when it blew away.

By the afternoon the sustained gusts had reduced in power but the area it now being engulfed by damp conditions.

The weather forecast indicated that the next 3 days will be wet hampering those needing to make essential repairs to their property.
