On 1st May a paraglider from the Ukraine, Roman Krynytsin aged 33, died after landing in the sea off Ölüdeniz.  Roman was one of a group of 25 Ukrainians who are in the area specifically to improve their paragliding skills.  After take off he was seen to perform aerobatic manoeuvres over the sea; his parachute tangled and he plummeted.  He died in the ambulance en route to hospital.

Another member of the group also fell but is now recovering in Letoon Hospital.
