Dalaman Aiport Blockaded By Disgruntled Transfer Companies

Local sources reported that the roads in and out of Dalaman airport were brought to a standstill this morning as disgruntled transfer drivers blocked the entrance and exit roads to Dalaman international airport.  According to our sources the demonstration was against the governments new laws which are described by the demonstrators as part of ‘a political agenda to stop tourism’. The new laws require all registered companies, under the tourism licence TURSAB, to pay a significant additional licence fee and meet additional capacity and safety rules.

TURSAB carry out regular spot checks on private transfer vehicles during the holiday season to stop illegal and potentially unsafe transfer companies operating. Only vehicles operating with a TURSAB licence are likely to be properly insured in the event of an accident.
