Fethiye Times readers living in Ovacik and Hisarönü will already know the bones of this story as the rumours have been flying since Friday.  We waited until today to report it here so the dust could settle and we can be sure our story is accurate. 

Today, Monday 6th August, thirteen people were charged with bribery and corruption in connection with the building of the new road down to Ölüdeniz.  Names have yet to be released but the official local news agency states they include “well known Fethiye businessmen and employees of Ölüdeniz Belediye”.  All thirteen are currently being held in Fethiye Prison – we await developments.
