Bob was born in Liverpool, England, on 7th January 1950.

He married Gill 10 years ago.

In Leicester, England, Bob worked as a Local Education Officer, and he managed the Special Needs Service.

He liked animals, particularly dogs and cats and took pity on ones which had been abandoned or were unwanted. He adopted 2 dogs and 2 cats from the sanctuary for rescued animals.

Between them Bob and Gill have five children and five grandchildren.

They had come to many parts of Turkey for holidays but this area was special to them and they kept coming back here. Two years ago they bought a villa in Uzumlu, and this became their home.

He was diagnosed with a brain tumour and after an operation in Izmir three weeks ago he never regained consciousness. Finally the end came on Tuesday 26th August.

The funeral ceremony took place at 2.30 pm in Catalarik Cemetery, Fethiye on Monday 1st September and was conducted by David Groom, who lives in Ovacik.

His wife will put roses from their garden in Uzumlu into the grave on the coffin.
