Our last report back in September 2008 showed construction was underway. Three months on and the project is close to completion.

It’s been going on for over 6 years but the extension of the Fethiye Promenade (Kordon) is now starting to take shape after almost a year of seemingly being stuck in one location.

The latest extension has seen the construction of a new fisherman’s marina extending out into the bay.

The area has been dredged to allow smaller boats to use the new marina without running aground.

According to Fethiye Belediye, who have commissioned the construction the marina, the jetties cover 240 meters in total - one section of 80 meters and the other 160 meters.

Other building work for the marina offices is underway and that should be followed by the paving of the area and more parks and cafes being constructed.
