Charter Flight Change Cost Reduced

One regular reader contacted us with what appears to be the latest ‘do anything to get your money’ policy from Thomas Cook.

She had booked a one-way flight to UK and wanted to change her ticket and bring flight date forward.

They wanted 300 Euros to make the change.

The original ticket had cost a fraction of this. 

So she went on-line, found a flight that fitted the bill for £48 and booked it.

OK so she sacrificed the original ticket, but is still quids (or Euros) in overall. 

Calis Dolphins to Come Back

And today we have a ‘correction’. 

A few weeks ago we wrote that the only visible evidence of changes resulting from Fethiye’s traffic consultancy was the removal of the well-known dolphin roundabout in ơlış. 

It seems we were wrong. 

The roundabout was removed to facilitate the Presidential Cycle Race (sweaty pedallers could just plough straight through the junction once it was gone) and will soon be reinstated. 

Good news for a useful landmark – but it does mean there is actually no visible evidence of change following the consultancy.

Top Three

A heartwarming statistic for those of us running vehicle on ‘otogaz’. 

As of August 2008 Turkey was third in the world in numbers of vehicles running on LPG. 

South Korea was first, Japan second and Turkey and Mexico joint third.

Toasting Tourists

For anyone who has not yet noticed the rise in temperature, the local press has been printing photos of ‘English Tourists’ sunbathing on beaches around Fethiye and claiming that the temperature almost reached thirty degrees last weekend.

Thirty degrees may bit a bit of an exaggeration but tourists sunbathing were not.

It’s all good publicity for Fethiye as a great holiday destination.
