A new restaurant, the Wine House, has opened on the street at the back of main mosque in Fethiye and is run by people who hail from Kars. 

As regular readers will know, our own Ölüdeniz Folk Dance Group has twice visited Kars in north eastern Turkey, and they were invited to perform at the restaurant’s opening night. 

As you can see from the photo they delighted the crowd – both inside the restaurant, and people en route to catch a dolmuş round the corner who also appreciated a free show.
 
The show closed with ‘Kiziroğlu Mustafa’ a true Kars anthem which went down so well an encore was demanded and the patrons joined in the dancing.
 
The Dance Group will be performing at various local venues during June – we’ll publish details shortly.
