(Bryan) Larry Gaines, always known as Larry, never Bryan, died on Sunday the 24th May 2009. 

His funeral was held at Gunlukbasi cemetery on the following Thursday the 28th May. 

He was 72 years of age.
 
Larry came to Fethiye about 14 years ago on his boat 'Inner Vision' with his then girlfriend Jay. 

He immediately fell in love with Fethiye and has stayed, immersing himself in the 'Yachtie' lifestyle around the Mediterran Hotel (formerly The Boat House).
 
After selling his boat, he was often found around Val's bar and then for the last 6 years around at the Kosem restaurant. 

He was a quiet and unassuming man, well liked and well known around the Fethiye area as can be attested by his funeral where approximately 70 people attended.
 
Larry was a man of regular routine, arriving at the Kosem by 12:15, two beers and then home, arriving again at 7:15 p.m. for the evening. 

He was always there! 

He enjoyed his quiz nights and putting the world to rights. 

He was the anchor man and centre point of the Kosem for many people. 

He will be sadly missed.
 
He is succeeded by two sons and a daughter.
