Hackers attacked Fethiye Times website yesterday afternoon and again this morning taking the site down for several hours.

Fethiye Times was the victim of a computer hacker yesterday afternoon and again this morning.

They attacked the site using the function that users log onto the site with and deleted various important system files needed to display the site to you.

We repaired the site quickly on both occasions and were back online within a couple of hours.

To prevent further disruption we have disabled the "user log on box" on Fethiye Times.

Our logs show that the attack may have come from a computer situated in Nigeria, a country renowned for email fraud and theft of personal information.

However, hackers usually cover their tracks and the location may be somewhere completely different.
