TV Drama

Thieves who allegedly stole 70 flat screen televisions from a hotel in Calis, Fethiye were apprehended by the police following an investigation last week.

The TVs were suspected as being those stolen from a 55 room hotel in the Foca neighbourhood of Fethiye that was closed for the winter.

The police investigation identified an internet site where a number of TVs matching the description of those stolen were being offered for sale.

The police made contact with the sellers and then swooped and arrested the suspects.

During their operation they recovered 20 of the TVs that were remaining.

They have now been returned to the owner.

The suspects await trial.

Police Review Empty Properties

The local press reported details of a police operation that took place in the Foca neighbourhood of Fethiye last week following a series of events centred in some abandoned buildings.

The Venetian Houses as they are known locally were built in the 1990’s.

The once colourful but now faded properties are close to the river, a hotel and are just 150m from the famous Calis Beach.

But the properties are now ruined with holes in the roofs, rotten windows and doors.

According to the local press they have now become a venue for homeless persons.

A fire in one of the ruined buildings recently raised the concerns of the Police.

Last week the Police mounted an operation in which they searched the properties.

They detained one person who was found hiding in one of the properties who was later released.
