Top Tip to Preserve Plonk

It’s not something that happens often in my house, but here’s a top tip for keeping wine as fresh as possible after you've opened the bottle.

Top tip for undrunk wine

Turkish wines are often sold in quite large sizes, from the 1 litre bottle to the larger flagons.

As soon as wine is opened it begins to oxidize, so if you find yourself with a part bottle that you want to keep at its best for up to two weeks, here's our top tip, which involve no expensive or hard-to-get-hold-of gadgets.

Keep a stock of small screw capped bottles, like pop bottles or small water bottles, or even mini wine bottles.

The idea is that you want to completely fill the smaller bottle with the un-drunk wine, thereby excluding the air.

Store the wine, whether it's red or white, in the fridge as this too will help keep it longer.

Enjoy!
