If you’re a keen blogger, you may be delighted to know that it’s now easier than ever to branch out into publishing your own book – with Amazon Kindle.

Relocating to Turkey has resulted in interesting stories, anecdotes, travels and experiences for many of us, and as evidenced by the number of ex-pats writing blogs, websites and articles for newspapers and magazines we’re keener than ever to get them out into the public domain.

With all this talent and material, you’re maybe thinking you’d like to consolidate it all and write a book one day, but even if you do getting it published can be difficult and costly.

But not anymore!  Amazon has made it easy for you to upload and then sell your eBook in Kindle format via their massive, global marketplace.

Although they won’t actively promote your book, you will have control over pricing and get a greater share of the cover price.

If you are able to get your book published in the conventional way, you’d be lucky to look at 10% of the cover price as your royalty, although in return your agent/publisher would actively promote your work.

Using the eBook you can achieve 70% of the selling price – but you’ll need to do the leg work to drum up trade.

Environmentally this is a good option too, as there is no printing and distribution implications, and with more and more people using Kindles and eBooks read on their tablet computers the market is only set to increase.

So if you find yourself with time on your hands, a computer at your fingertips and an idea for a book in your mind, why not have a go.

You never know, you might be the next JK Rowling!

And, if you need to promote your book why not advertise on Fethiye Times!
