Did you know you can now buy that staple of Turkish street food the 'Simit' in New York?

A website we are fond of www.istanbuleats.com which posts restaurant and food reviews in general for Istanbul, now tells us that the Simit is being sold in New York.

Not only that but two rival simit bakeries are apparently battling it out for dominance of the embryonic US simit market – see picture above.

Now we are just waiting for Delia’s simit recipe to hit the next cookery book.
