Dilek was born and grew up in Fethiye, leaving to attend Ege University in Izmir, where she studied Tourism Management.

After graduation she returned to Fethiye in 1980 to work in the Tourist Information office – and stayed there until 2000, when she transferred to run Tourist Information in Finike for one year.

In 2001 she returned to Fethiye to become General Manager of the newly-formed FETAV charity, a role she continues to fill. We are going to tell you more about FETAV soon.

Dilek is married with one son and one daughter both away at university studying management.

Dilek loves Fethiye because it is so rich in natural and cultural resources, plus she has her family nearby.

We asked her what she thought FETAV did for Fethiye and she replied “As far as I am concerned FETAV is Fethiye’s heartbeat.”
