This weekend, 28th and 29th March, Fethiye will once again become the venue
for the annual battle between man, motorbikes and nature at the purpose built
off-road park in Fethiye’s Esenköy district.
What is Enduro?
For those who know about and love this sport no explanation is necessary but
for those who don’t, Enduro is high octane, action packed, adrenalin fueled
off-road motorcycle racing and for the many hundreds of thousands of
enthusiasts across the world it’s very exciting indeed.
This weekend Akdeniz Off-Road Park in Fethiye’s Esenköy district will be the first
location for the Turkish 2015 championship, providing an opportunity for thousands
of spectators to witness somewhere in the region of 130 off-road motorcyclists as they
tackle one of the toughest and wildest courses around.
This event is organized by the Fethiye Forestry Sports Club with the support
of the Turkish Motorcycle Federation.
Each round will feature the high difficulty Motocross and Extreme tests,
and the medium difficulty Enduro test.
What happens next?
After Fethiye, the championship move to other Turkish towns:
Azdavay, in the northern province of Kastamonu, Ürgüp in the
central province of Nevşehir (Cappadocia), the northern
province of Tokat, and then back down to the southwest
and the towns of Urla and Bodrum.
Fethiye’s Akdeniz Off-Road Park
The 400,000 m2 off-road park; has an 3.5 km MX Enduro track as
well as extreme tracks, all of which reach the international standard
and with facilities that allow spectators to watch several events from the same location.
There will be food and drink stands, parking, male-female and disabled toilets,
there is transport provided by the local minibuses, and an electricity supply
for those coming equipped with tents and caravans, who plan to stay over.
