The picturesque village of Yesil Uzumlu near Fethiye on the southern Aegean coast of Turkey will host the 6th mushroom festival between the 25th to 27th April 2014.
The event will be a great opportunity for locals and visitors to learn, find and, if they are lucky, eat some of the abundant fungi that grows in the area.
The event will offer would-be foragers the opportunity to get hands on training about how how to find mushrooms including the treasured morel mushroom with guided tours in the hills above the village and other locations.
The event will also be a showcase for local craft and produce producers. On Saturday there will be an exhibition of regional viticulture, viniculture and wine making at the main square.
Music, events for kids, a photo exhibition, food and dancing will also feature in the fun-packed three day event.
The 6th Mushroom Festival starts at 2pm on Friday 25th April with an opening event.
Mushroom hunts take place at 10am on Saturday and 11am Sunday. Make sure you book in for these events at the festival office as places are limited.
Concerts will take place each evening and other events will be as posted at the event.
