The local terrain offers some of the best cycling you could wish for as we discover in our third look at winter exercise options.

Whether you want to pootle along on the flat or challenge yourself with a bit of hill climbing, there is a route to suit every type of cyclist in and around Fethiye.

Add this to the beautiful weather and fantastic views and scenery that you will cycle through, this has to be one of the easiest ways to keep fit without feeling like a boring workout.

There are a number of bike shops in town, but one that most local readers may well have noticed will be the Likya2Teker (Lycia on two wheels) cycle shop, down from Migros on the other side of the road. 

Aykut, pictured, runs the shop but also organises weekly cycling trips on Sundays.

The group, which comprises of several nationalities, usually leave the shop around 9am.  Aykut tells us you have to be fit and have a decent bike.  However, he assures us, if the planned route is long they try to make it as flat as possible; if a hilly route is chosen they try to keep it short.
