Bodrum Cup Day 2

Sunday 15th October

The first race was from outside Bodrum harbour, east up the Gulf of Gokova to a village called Cökertme which is also the name of a famous Turkish folk song.  The race was without major incident and Kaptan Şevket finished fourth in its class and arrived in time for those on board to enjoy a late afternoon swim before sitting down to an early dinner – preparation for the party still to come. 

Mudo, a famous fashion house in Turkey and one of this year’s sponsors, laid on a fashion show complete with cat walk, lighting and sound.  Seating for the spectators was on large {mosimage}floor cushions set on beautiful hand-woven local carpets and after the fashion show, best-dressed crew and fancy-dressed crew competitions took place followed by a concert from Bülent Özdemir and Nicole who brought the house down with their version of ‘Cökertme’.  Kayra wines, Efes beer and a raki company were also sponsors, so the free bar helped the evening go with a considerable swing.
