The final race took us back to Bodrum and we started well and were flying along up with the leaders when a weird thing happened – we lost the wind.  Now losing the wind isn’t weird in itself but boats were sailing by on either side of us while we languished in dead space – dead in the water no less.  It took about fifteen minutes for enough wind to blow to get us back into the race but by then it was too late.  Final results made us third in our class same as last year, when we were so hoping to do better.

Still we went to the Awards Ceremony at the Halikarnassus Disco, went on stage and accepted the applause, before returning to the boat to finish off the remaining wine and beer and have final chats with the other passengers on board who had put up with Fethiye Times for the duration of the regatta.
