Whilst the Museum does hold the usual collections of statuary, coins, household artefacts covering the period from the 5th millennium BC onwards, and these include some stunning items, it's global claim to fame are the mosaics found during excavations in a suburb of modern Antakya and now displayed in four large galleries.

And the above image called 'The Happy Hunchback' is extremely popular with visitors to the Museum. As he is definitely not smiling we leave it to readers to work out where the 'Happy' comes from.

As our guide book says, the Mosaic Museum alone justifies a visit to Antakya.
