Yes, folks, the village wing is heading east, hoping to escape the rain. First of all we’ll spend a few days exploring Hatay – that’s the bit of the country that ‘turns the corner’ at the end of the Mediterranean. Then we go on to Syria.

We’ll travel on buses, planes and trains, and on the subject of planes, now is a great time to get around in Turkey with Pegasus Airlines.

They do cheap flights to Istanbul from Dalaman (this writer bought a return ticket in December for 73TL – a one-way bus fare is 70!) and from Antalya you can fly all over the country.
