As regular readers will know, we are big fans of the Palm Centre at Köyceğiz which is the nearest thing to a well-run British plant nursery we have found in this area.

Note that we differentiate between ‘nursery’ and ‘garden centre’ as the Palm Centre grows all the plants it sells and also supplies them wholesale.

While the Centre’s gardens are closed to the public in winter, the huge Plant Sales area is open and, after a leisurely lunch by the lake, provides lots of interesting plants to whet any gardener’s appetite.

And with Christmas not too far away you could solve some of your gift problems.

Just follow the road along the lake from Köyceğiz centre and you’ll come to the Palmiye Merkezi after a kilometre or so.
